Signed on the back "Sterling" and "16 J". The "16" refers to the purity of the silver (100%). The "J" refers to the artist who crafted the piece. Most likely Navajo, this beautiful pin is in very good condition. About 2-1/2" wide and about 1" tall, this finely crafted piece features leaves and flowers in sterling silver, with 9 gem stones. Four turquoise colored, 2 carnelian colored, 2 amethyst colored, and 1 central orange/red spiny Southwestern oyster shell. The other stones may be dyed quartz. Consistent with other pieces made in the 1970 by Native American Southwestern tribes.
